FREE HOLIDAY TREE RECYCLING PROGRAM

Xmas Tree chipping

Waste Management and North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District have teamed up with Incline Village General Improvement District for the Waste Not Program, annual FREE Holiday Tree Recycling program.

This FREE Holiday Tree Recycling service helps save our natural resources, landfill space and protects the clarity of Lake Tahoe. All trees dropped off at Preston Field will be chipped and used as mulch for local erosion control projects. All trees left curbside will be taken to the landfill so please take advantage of this environmentally friendly program. Last year this program recycled approximately 930 trees. Help us to recycle and set a new record this year!

Incline Village/Crystal Bay residents may drop off their holiday tree through - January 29, 2021 at Preston Field, 700 Tahoe Blvd. located off Highway 28 near State Route. 431 in Incline Village.

Curbside tree collection week will be January 11 – 15, 2021. Incline Village/Crystal Bay residents may place clean trees curbside on their standard service day for recycling collection by Waste Management. Waste Management will collect clean trees for recycling, curbside on your regularly scheduled service day, this week only, for no additional fee. Maximum tree length allowed for curbside pickup is three feet. Larger trees must be cut down to three-foot lengths. Trees must be clean of all decorations, nails and tree stands.

Curbside collection is for Incline Village/Crystal Bay residential customers only. Trees placed curbside any other time are considered excess trash and will be subject to extra charges.

Please take care to remove all ornaments, tinsel, nails, wire, and other items which may cause harm to the tree chipper or operator. The chipper will not accept stumps, wreaths, or yard waste

We encourage all Incline Village/Crystal Bay residents to take advantage of this recycling program and to utilize the many community recycling programs and services. For more information on WASTE NOT programs, please call 775-832-1203 or visit www.ivgid.org.
